Reminding myself to be human

When I sit shaking in my desk with the anxiety of a scared school girl.
Slowly Clenching my fists so my fingertips won't feel my own heartbeat.
That is when I know I am human.
When I look into the blurred sky and feel my somewhat forgotten childhood creeping into my memory.
Trying to navigate its way into my reality.
That is when I know I am human.
when seeing a new face gives me hope for a better tomorrow.
And a better yesterday.
That is when I know I am human.
When I see the reflection of the sunset through the eyes of someone else.
Not knowing when it began or when it will end.
That is when I know I am human.
When my heart starts to break from falling in love to quickly and I can feel the bruises developing.
slowly Bleeding internally.
That is when I know i am human.
When I look up at the stars.
only seeing what my mind allows me to.
That is when I know I am human.
When the thought of my own future makes me shiver.
And college scares me more than anything.
That is when I know I am human.
When my blood turns cold from thinking to much.
and my eyes turn dry from staring at the wall.
That is when I know I am human.
When I start to doubt that I am human.
That is when I know I am human.

I've gotta be human.

Greatest thing about being human. Your writing is fantastic. Can't wait to see what you bring in the future.
